Whitby Compassionate Food joins Farndale Show - Monday 28th August

Our local support group for Compassion in World Farming – Whitby Compassionate Food, will have a stall at Farndale Show on bank holiday Monday 28th August.

We are really grateful to have been accepted for such a large local agricultural show, which sees a footfall of around 3000 people. It is an ideal place for us to raise awareness of the crucial work that Compassion in World Farming does, peacefully campaigning to end the cruel practices of factory farming & exporting of live animals in this country and around the world.

Compassion in World Farming is a British charity which works globally, and was founded in 1967 by a British farmer, horrified by the development of modern, intensive factory farming. We have been to several events where we have been heartened by the response of many members of the public, including local farmers, who are opposed to the cruel, intensive farming methods of factory farming. We are looking forward to raising awareness and also raising funds through selling second-hand books.

If anyone would like to donate any second-hand books for us to sell on the stall, please drop them off at The Dispensary shop, 25 Skinner Street, Whitby, before Friday 25th August. And if you’re coming to Farndale Show, please come and say Hello! 😊
