Ayurvedic Talk by Dr. Bhagyashree Kamble

Dr Bhagyashree Kamble from Nature’s Laboratory recently gave an evening talk in The Dispensary on the ancient holistic healing philosophy of Ayurveda, and the herbal medicines which form a part of this healing tradition. Ayurveda emphasises the importance of bringing mind, body and spirit into balance. It was a fascinating and inspiring talk and led on to us thinking about the Ayurvedic products we stock in The Dispensary shop.

Favourite Yogi Tea Blends

Here are some of our favourite Yogi tea blends:

Soul Balm - An Ayurvedic blend with cocoa shells, sweet rooibos and orange. This tea invites your soul to unwind and warms your heart.  This is a tea for everyone looking for warmth and comfort.

Stomach Ease – This tea is inspired by the secrets of the masalas, the spice blends used in Indian cooking to make meals both digestible and delicious. In Ayurveda, fennel, liquorice and peppermint are also highly prized for these properties. Cardamom and ginger put the finishing touches of flavour to this tea.

Breathe Deep - This tea seeks to evoke conscious breathing. It fills your entire body like a deep breath, thanks to eucalyptus and spicy thyme. Basil is also an ingredient, with its wonderful aroma, the Greeks referred to it as this “royal plant.”

Rose – This is an enveloping, sensual and comforting tea. The rose is full of symbolism. It is characteristic of the most beautiful words. It has a delicate aroma matched by a beautiful appearance. In combination with hibiscus and lavender blossom, this is a tea for everyone with passion!

Star Salutation- This is an Ayurvedic Chai blend with Tulsi, Mint and Lemongrass. This is an ideal companion for your daily yoga practice.

Immune Support - Containing some powerful immune boosting ingredients including Elderberries, high in anti-oxidants & vitamins, Echinacea, which may stimulate & strengthen your immune system & Acerola Cherry, which is high in vitamin C, which acts as an anti-oxidant, helping to protect your cells against the effects of free radicals.

Alkaline herbs - This is a tea for balance, with alkaline herbs dandelion, lavender & nettle. Lavender, which is part of the mint family & a native of the Mediterranean, contains important essential oils, whilst dandelion, one of the most widespread & best -known herbs, has leaves which are tart and slightly bitter. Completing the trio is nettle, which grows in temperature regions throughout the world & has a pleasantly mild taste.

Remember it's all about Balance!

Enjoy our ayurvedic products and remember that it is the balance of mind, body & spirit that is important in this ancient philosophy of well-being.
